Mr. Paul Appleby, the Director of Corporate Enforcement, has recently published his Office’s Guidance on Audit Committees which discusses in particular the scope of the new legal provisions with respect of audit committees in Irish company law. Mr. Appleby provided an outline of key aspects of these legal provisions including their impact, potential exemptions under consideration and likely commencement date.
- Directors’ Indemnity Insurance
In a recent survey, 78% of respondents expressed concern about the potential for personal financial exposure as an audit committee member. Mr. John Barry provided an outline on key considerations for directors in managing this risk including an overview of Directors’ and Officers’ liability cover, standard exclusions and key areas to watch out for.
